From the warm and respectful welcome ,our host Anne and Donald, and the small touches (fresh home made scones) ,we knew we had chosen quality accommodation. The bungalow is well appointed through out and spotlessly clean and well maintained. It is in a rural location but large supermarkets and restraints are easily accessable and the city of Inverness is only 15 minutes away by car.The owners have a working croft. During our stay, Donald made our visiting relatives from Austraila very welcome, and provided boots to take them all down to see the new lambs and other animals.. The large lounge is partly circular as a result you have rural views out of the windows for almost 270 degrees. There are two bathrooms one is on suite and fitted with a shower and stool the other has a bath. We were never cold as the central heating is very effective. Anne had ensured tha we could find everything we would need for our stay before leaving us but it was reassuring, knowing that, she was always available if clarification was required. NOTE :- both my sister and I have limited mobility and had no difficulty with the three steps into the property as they are wide and long. So happy we selected this accommodation.

Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cozy cottage. Great location, very quiet and beautiful views. Warm and well equipped cottage, no faults at all. We knew there was no dishwasher here but we did miss not having one, so one little suggestion...replace tumble drier with dishwasher and cottage is perfect! We will be back! Very many thanks from The Bells

Our stay at Maranatha Cottage was most pleasant. Our hostess, Anne, greeted us both on arrival and on departure. The property was spotlessly clean and modern. The only problem, not Anne's fault, was trying to use our GPS for directions in and around the area of the rental property. It simply does not work. We did have written directions from Anne that helped a lot.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 children and it was perfect. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped it provided a great base for around Aviemore and Inverness areas. Only thing is don't rely on the Sat NAV for finding the property! Anne and Donald were fantastic friendly hosts and made our daughter's birthday truly memorable by taking the kids to feed the sheep. We will definitely look to stay again if visiting the area again.

We were welcomed even at short notice after calling Gael holiday homes. We found it very comfortable and warm and could have stayed longer. Wifi worked very well and had DVDs to watch and lots of tv channels. Annie and Donald provide wonderful hospitality and were friendly and helpful. Just next door if you need anything or would like to visit the sheep, cows or chickens they will take you on a tour. We loved it and it's only a short drive to Inverness city centre.

Maranatha Cottage is a wonderful place to stay, convenient to Inverness and roads in all directions, yet located in the quiet countryside on a working farm (without any barnyard smell). The house was easy to find (using GPS coordinates and directions from owner, do not let your GPS use the street address). The guest areas are very spacious, fresh and sparkling clean, pleasantly decorated, and tastefully arranged with premium furniture. The living room has lovely views (big windows on three sides) and an instant-on fireplace. The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for real self-catering, including a full-size refrigerator and a stove with oven (works well). We used the high-efficiency washer, and if you need it (we did not) the tumble dryer is there too. Anne provided homemade scones for our arrival – delicious! The master suite has a very comfortable bed and en-suite bathroom (shower with instant hot water). We loved every minute staying here, and wish we had stayed much longer!

Maranatha Cottage is a very spacious and well maintained apartment that is attached to the Henderson home. The scenery around is very pleasant and enhanced our stay. We were met by the proprietor, Anne Henderson, who was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and very nicely furnished, and the living room is especially large, with a very nice carpet. Everything functioned well, and all the amenities were provided and were of very good quality. We were two couples travelling together, and although one of the bedrooms has twin beds, we were able to push them together. It was really no problem. The kitchen had everything we needed for our self-catering needs. We were a short drive from Inverness and the Loch Ness area, and had easy access to highway M-9, which is the main road in that area. The drive to the beginning of Cairngorm National Park was also short, as was the drive to the Tomatin Distillery (a good recommendation by Anne). The nearest large supermarket on the outskirts of Inverness was only a 15-minute drive away, so our shopping was easy. We were all very pleased and would certainly recommend this place to friends.

Everything was very well kitted out and the place was spottlessly clean. Locaction was a little tricky to find but in general good. On the booking in form it did ask if we would like an earlier check in time which we did ask for but did not happen. On arrival tried the numbers given and either went to answering service or the mobile was not answered, therefore had to wait till the normal check in time of 4 pm. A bit frustrating. In all enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

Anne & Donald, owners of Maranatha Reply on 26/07/2016
Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry there was some confusion over the arrival time. When we received your booking through we did not see a request asking for an early check in if possible, the booking process doesn’t offer this as a bookable option but does allow any special requirements to be requested. We did email back on the same day to ask about your expected arrival time but we didn’t hear back. Our booking agents spoke to you on the phone a few days before arrival to ensure you had all the information you required and following this we made sure someone was at the property to meet you at the standard check in time of 4pm, normally we are there to meet guests and answer pre-arrival calls but on this occasion we were away for a few days. Again our apologies for the crossed wires, hopefully this didn’t detract from your enjoyment of the Maranatha and the Highlands and you will visit again soon.

We had a wonderful time. When we booked we thought it was a bit overpriced, but after being there we agreed it was totally worthy. The apartment is spacious and completely new, has everything you need to feel at home and has been decorated with nice taste. Hosts were extremely nice and accommodating. They even showed us how their dogs shepherd the sheep. They have plenty of animals (cows, chicken, sheep), so would be every child cottage dream. Even though breakfast was not included we got home made scones, fresh milk from their cows, jam, instant coffee and tee.

We chose the property based on - Location, Close to A9, yet in quiet location, less than 10 minutes drive to Inverness Cost, compared to a local'budget' hotel, the property was £100 less. Facilities, fully equipped with more than everything we needed, including facilities to help my less than able parents in the eg suite. The welcome we received from Ann and her husband was second to none, she made herself avaiable to us for any advice & help we needed, without being intrusive. Lovely cottage and a very charming host. Very well decorated and maintained. Nice large living room. Hot water was plentiful, the shower was good and the CH worked very well. The washing machine (an essential for us) was great; the tumble drier costs extra but we didn't need it. There is no dishwasher. TV reception was good as was the wi-fi. The double bed mattress that others have commented adversely upon does need replacing but we have experienced far worse and it is not a reason to avoid the cottage. The quantity of cutlery and some crockery was rather limited; there were only 4 large mugs and no decent sized glasses. As with many cottages the lack of a large pan was frustrating. Outside there was no garden furniture which would have been a shame had the temperatures been higher. The location just off the A9 (far enough away not to hear it) means Inverness is only 15 minutes away, and in an hour you can be way down the far side of Loch Ness, well along the Moray coastline or south to the Cairngorms. We would be happy to return.

We arrived at Maranatha to a wonderful welcome from the owners who took great pains to see we were comfortably settled in. The attention they paid to my elderly mother (90) was particularly appreciated and their overall friendliness got our Scottish holiday off to a flying start. The self-catering cottage was spotlessly clean, very well furnished and decorated and the kitchen was well equipped - the welcome scones, milk and other basics being a nice touch. Maranatha is also wonderfully located in an easy to find rural location, and yet only five minutes drive from Inverness. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maranatha and would not hesitate to recommend it to other guests - particularly since the rather thin mattresses on the single beds are (we were told) about to be replaced with top quality ones.

The kitchen, bathroom and lounge room facilities were very good, but were let down by extremely uncomfortable mattresses in the bedrooms. We spoke to Anne, the owner, about it. She was aware of the problem. At the end of our visit she told us that 2 new single pillow top mattresses would be delivered by May 30. She would need to wait a while longer to buy a new double mattress. Anne and her husband are pleasant and friendly people. I could only recommend this property when all of the mattresses have been replaced.

Anne, owner of Maranatha Reply on 25/05/2015
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am very sorry that Marantha didn’t meet your expectation regarding our beds. How firm or soft a mattress is can be a personal choice however I do appreciate that our mattresses didn’t suit your requirements. We value all feedback from our guests and have now replaced the 2 single mattresses and will also be replacing the double one. I am glad that otherwise you enjoyed your stay at Maranatha and in the Highlands and do hope you will visit again.

Very well situated between both, Inverness really nearby so can stock up on provisions. House itself was really well maintained, clean, comfortable, warm and dry. Good shower to hose off after a long walk, comfy beds. Really good hosts - based in the next door house, very friendly, lovely welcome (scones - home cooked - delicious!). Hosts were very accommodating of our 2 children who loved seeing the animals and running around the lawn area. We could not reccommend this accommodation more highly - if you want some time away from the hustle and bustle of town but with a town and all facilities only 10 minutes away then this is the perfect location. A great base to explore the highlands (whisky country!!) as well as the coastal areas. Thanks Susan and Donald for your hospitality!!

We had a very very good time in Maranatha. The host is very friendly and helpful. Maranatha is very clean and neat. Room is decorated very pretty and we have a lot of space resting and relaxing. The area is very quiet and I'm able to keep my morning jogging even in Scotland. Highly recommend Maranatha if you are looking for a place to stay.

Pretty location just a few minutes outside of Inverness. It was a treat to be able to prepare our own meals in a nice kitchen after eating out so much. The owners, Anne and Donald, were lovely and very helpful when it came to making suggestions of sites to see and routes to take. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Donald even took us city dwellers out to see the sheep and give us a demo on herding them with Mootie the border collie.

Super Unterkunft, mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht.

We were very lucky with the weather and this allowed us to enjoy the Highlands. Anne and Donald are a very friendly couple, ready to help you at any time. It worths to invest some time with Donald to comment your plans, because he knows perfectly the zone. Our stay was very pleasant. The cottage is perfect with two bathrooms and a kitchen fully equipped. I have to thank Donald and Anne the nice appointment we had the last night, sharing a nice glass of Spanish red wine that Anne offered to us.

Very warm welcome on behalf of Anne and of Donald, house in a magnificent place, a surface of our very big rent, near the lochness, near the center of inverness, Fort william, cairngorms. The children were for the paradises in the evening by returning of our days. Scones youngs upon our arrival, to discover cows and sheeps (thank you again to Anne and Donald for all these moments of sharing and all these small attentions). Please exuse me for my translation (because I'm french).

This was an amazing place to stay and Anne & Donald made you feel very welcome in fact like you were one of the family. Anne came down to the end of the road to meet us after we rung to say we were a little lost. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and was like being in your own home. Is a great size lounge with two good size bedrooms. Is great having both a family bathroom and ensuite. Is also very handy to Inverness and is a great alternative if you are not wanting to be right in the centre of town

Maranatha offers a spotlessly clean home from home. There is plenty of ground around the house, which the boys really enjoyed having access to. It is also centrally located, which means there are loads of activities and sight-seeing that you can go and do. Anne and Donald are both lovely warm welcoming hosts. We will be going back as soon as we can!

The Maranatha cottage was excellent in every way: spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped, with lovely views from the windows. It was a good situation for a family holiday with the various members preferring different activities. Beautiful scenery around with nice walks but just a few miles from Inverness, with its theatre, museum, art gallery, shops and restaurants. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful and left basic supplies for us so that we didn't need to shop immediately we arrived. Wi-Fi was intermittent but adequate for checking e-mails and information about the area.

Maranatha was wonderful! Spotlessly clean, generous 'welcome pack' , our host went the extra mile to make our stay outstanding. It was excellent value for money and we will thoroughly recommend this cottage. Easy access to A9 made our holiday very convenient.

Located just 5 miles south of Inverness this property offers something for all ages such as visiting Loch Ness or the beaches of the Moray Firth where you may see bottlenose dolphins. Just 5 minutes from the famous Culloden Battlefield and the Clava Cairns and within easy access of the Cairngorm National Park where there are opportunities for skiing, hillwalking and mountain biking. Landmark Forest Adventure Park is only 20 minutes away and offers a fun day out for adults and children alike.
