Flat 7 at The Steading Luxury Apartment development in Aviemore. Available for nightly rental from 2 nights upwards, sleeps up to 4 guests. Visiting Aviemore for skiing, snowboarding or exploring the Cairngorm National Park then stay at The Steading.

A mere 10 minute walk into the thriving village hosting an abundance of excellent eateries, retail outlets, leisure amenities, regular festival/events and a supermarket.  Aviemore is an excellent base for the varied outdoor leisure experiences to be found in the Cairngorm National Park including: canoeing, hill climbing, pony trekking, cycling, gliding, quad biking, ice climbing, gorge walking, mountain biking, rafting and of course skiing. Cairngorm and The Lecht ski areas are easily accessible (a 20 and 40 minute drive respectively).

First Floor Apartment: accessed via a communal entrance and stairway.

Open plan living/kitchen/dining area:  2 sets of French doors both opening to Juliette balconies.  The lounge has ample seating with 2 x 2 seater sofas and a feature chair and foot stool, flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player, free Wi-Fi internet access and an iPod dock.

Kitchen:  with an electric double oven/grill and induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and Nespresso machine. There is also a microwave, kettle and toaster and ample crockery, cutlery, glassware and utensils.

Master bedroom:  Double bed, en suite shower room, fitted wardrobes and hair dryer.

Bedroom 2:  Two single beds and fitted wardrobes. There is a single pull out bed available to use in this room suitable for an additional child.

Family bathroom: with separate shower, bath, wc and basin.

Utility room: with sink, washing machine and clothes dryer.

Outside:  There is a bike lock up area and shared outside garden and drying facilities.

Underfloor heating throughout with temperature control in each room.

All bed linen and towels (1 bath and 1 hand towel per person) are included in the price.

The apartment is stocked with a starter supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls and other kitchen and bathroom supplies.

Restaurants & Pubs: various in Aviemore – around a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive.

Food shops: There is a Tesco supermarket on the main street. Tesco will home deliver.

Shops: Various shops in the Myrtlefield shopping centre and on the main street.

Banks: RBS on the main street

Railway Station: on the main street. Direct connections to the north and south.

    The unit was comfortable and provided all amenities including a laundry. Very roomy for two couples with plenty of privacy. Convenient, quiet location. Highly recommend the unit for others.

    Fantastic accommodation, excellent specification, well supplied with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Only one small negative - single bed mattress very uncomfortable, springs digging in to you - needs replacing.

    Really enjoyed our stay here, would rate it 4.5/5... a 5 star rating is absolutely possible, the only thing that is needed is a change of mattresses...the spring mattresses were not that comfortable and you do want to wake up relaxed on your holiday... Other than that, amazing property that i'd recommend w/o any hesitation whatsoever...

    Disgusted that the bedding was soiled, and appeared to be stained by blood. Pillow cases weren't any better having mascara marks on them, and sheet had body hairs on it! Horrible smell like mothballs in the apartment. Coffee machine was dirty, hadn't been emptied, or cleaned after previous occupants. Bedroom blind is broken, opening/closing wand is missing. Ironing board is rendered useless by it's cover. Towel rails have been removed in the bathrooms, but the fixing adhesive has been left. This is hard and sharp and poses a dangerous hazard, considering you're mostly naked when in there. Initially you think the development is in a nice secluded area of the village, but it's sited right next to the A9 trunk road. Traffic noise is a problem even through the night, with thunderous freight lorries still on the move. Arrived around 23.00hrs, Aviemore was already asleep and couldn't find anywhere open to buy some food. Disappointed that there was no welcome pack so that I could've at least had a coffee and a biscuit before bed. Has obviously been at a good standard, but furnishings, decor and equipment are all in need of attention, and a more reliable cleaner is definitely required. Not worth the £210 a night charge in it's present state. Disappointing. :(

    Your feedback is appreciated and my primary response is that the matter should have been brought to my attention immediately upon check in if there were issues. Regarding bedding and the turnover I am assured by the cleaning company that the flat as turned over to the same high standard as always before the new clients. If you have photos and/or other proof of the cleanliness issues then please send soonest and I will take the cleaning company to account. In response to your other issues...The cleaning contractor whilst attending to general cleanliness also ensures that bedding is removed from service that is not of an acceptable standard post their laundry service. A welcome pack is included with every turnover which includes coffee, dishwasher tabs, laundry tabs etc. The ironing cover is being replaced as we speak and I appreciate that being brought to my attention. I was aware of an issue with the towel rail in the master en suite and it was removed as it was unsafe and an over the door rail has been provided. If the master bathroom one has been broken too then I will attend to that soonest. Similarly the blind closing mechanism will be attended to immediately. Guests have only very recently commented upon the standard and quality of the décor - I apologise if this is not to your taste but we wholly encourage guests to feedback if there are any discrete issues which we will proactively remediate. All in all I too am unhappy you have not enjoyed your stay in Aviemore and where possible remediate any issues within my control when brought to my attention.

    We go to the Highlands every year for the food, scenery and to visit friends nearby. This apartment is one of the best I have stayed in for cleanliness, comfort, location and views on your door step. If it was for sale I would buy it!

    Well situated, beautiful apartment with stunning views. Easy to find and lots of available parking. The apartment is modern and tastefully decorated with lots of space, the heating and TV took a while to understand but that may be due to my level of ability rather than the complexity of the equipment. We stayed at 7 The Steadings for 3 nights and didn't hear any of the other residents, a very pleasant and quiet break. I would definitely recommend the accommodation and will be back myself.

    A very well appointed apartment - very spacious, in a quiet residential area and within easy distance of the local facilities in Aviemore. We came without a car, so were walking, and it only took us 10 minutes to get to the nearest local food shop, and about 15 minutes to get to the main parade of shops in Aviemore. With a car, it would only be 2 minutes. When we initially arrived at the station with our luggage in the evening, and before we knew exactly where the flat was, we decided to get a taxi and that was £3.80 excluding tip - very reasonable. There are some buses as well. The flat was very clean and the beds comfortable. Good bathrooms. We've stayed in many self catering properties since retiring 6 years ago, and this certainly falls into our top category. We purposefully wanted a winter break this time but may well stay here again during a summer period, and bring the car so we can explore further afield.

    We were not informed about the toilet in the en suite being broken before we arrived. Luckily there is another bathroom although the heating in there didn't work. Spoke to the owner re this and that the TV could only get a couple of channels. We were spoken though what to do but no one called back or came to check any of the faults.

    We are very concerned about the issues that you encountered during your stay. Suffice to say it is not acceptable but hopefully you understand securing a plumber at such late notice on a Saturday for a non-emergency is a big ask. However we always learn from these type of incidents. Our changeover service now has 2 specific checklist items regarding checking ALL our underfloor heating and television service. we will also make sure the instruction booklet is further simplified to make it even more user friendly. Our booking service has also been informed to ensure all potentially impacted bookings are informed up front to ensure our customers are best informed.     Lovely home. Nice beds, modern and well equipped kitchen, and beautiful bathrooms. Not much negative to say about it, except for this: it is probably not the best place if you are a light sleeper. The motorway next door is very audible (we like to sleep with the windows open) and the blinds in the bedrooms don't close properly, so the light will wake you as soon as the sun rises.

    This is a high quality modern apartment that more than met our requirements for holiday accommodation. A lot of thought has gone into how to make visitors comfortable and almost everything has been catered for. Very modern and stylish. Loved the underfloor heating and the good quality wifi was great as with small children evening entertainment was required in the evening. The views from the apartment were also spectacular. Despite following the instructions to the letter, we couldn't work out how to operate the underfloor heating. Need to have thick curtains in the bedrooms so that young children are not woken up by the early morning light, which in the north of Scotland in Spring, is very early!

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. An ideal base for our trip. We skied at the Lecht, which was perfect for our daughter with plenty of nursery slopes, and made use of the swimming pool and play area at the macdonald.

    Great place to relax and enjoy Aviemore. Very quiet area but at walking distance from all the amenities. Flat is spacious, very well design, very comfortable a fitted with every "gadget" (floor heating, satellite, LED TV, DVD, Nespresso machine, dishwasher, washing machine, ipod/phone dock station, a fully equipped kitchen, and a few toys for children). You really feel at home from the minute you enter the flat. Our daughters (3 and 4 and half years old) loved it too! Best holiday flat ever rented. We have already recommended it to friends and colleagues and we hope to be back soon.

    Flat ideal, only drawback was double bed which although comfortable was a bit small for me 6'2''. Other facilities excellent and an ideal location just outside Aviemore but within easy walking distance. Also reasonable views from this upstairs apartment. With a king size bed would have rated excellent.

    We were very satisfied with the apartment. It had enough space and we were lucky that there was a washing machine and towels. There was also a well equipment kitchen. Unfortunately the hoover was really bad. We really recommend this place for families.

    The flat was outfitted very well with dishes and linens. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It's a pretty location and close to town and other destinations. We found the owner to be very responsive. He quickly and politely responded to our email query about the WiFi login information. (It turns out that the local information notebook, including the flat info card, had been buried in a drawer of coloring books. We didn't find it until quite late.)

    A beautiful bright & modern flat. Kitchen is extremely well equipped, even to the level of salt and pepper! WiFi throughout the flat which is extremely useful as mobile coverage intermittent in Aviemore - also kept the kids amused. Located about one mile from the village centre, this was the perfect base for our family. Would highly recommend.

    A lovely comfortable flat with great views,ideally situated within an easy walk into town. We felt the underfloor heating a bit on the hot side, but probably just not used to it. I know there was a dishwasher, but some more tea towels would be handy. Also the air extractor over the cooker is really noisy, which is not so good in an open plan area. The floor as you enter the main building would benefit from a rug or runner as it is extremely slippery when wet. All in all we had a fab time and would definately recommend this flat, although the price for the same time next year has more than doubled, sadly this may well prevent us from returning.

    Very comfortable modern stylish flat. Flat immaculate for our arrival with lovely seasonal touches. For the last 10 years we have rarely stayed in hotels but preferred to rent luxury accommodation giving us room to relax with the flexibility to self cater or eat out. Pro's Immaculate modern accommodation with under floor heating and plentiful hot water after a day on the slopes. Well equipped kitchen with everything we required to self cater and crockery and cutlery of high standard. Lovely lounge area to relax in evening. Wifi was reliable and nice touches On site parking. Bedrooms comfortable and bathrooms immaculate with good supply of towels. Con's One wardrobe taken up with fold up bed and ironing board, spare pillows etc so limited hanging space but minor inconvenience. First time in s/c of this standard I have been rationed to 4 dishwater tablets for 5 night stay and 1/2 a toilet roll in each bathroom with no spares. We are in Aviemore 3 or 4 times a year and would most definitely book Flat 7 again.

    Fabulous flat, beautifully set out and decorated to a very high standard. Everything you need supplied - we dined in each evening and the kitchen is very well kitted out. We had a lovely stay - the only problem was the weather, but we were there in November, so could not really expect much! Spent a lot of time in the Mountain Cafe - fabulous!!
