Kerrisdale is perfectly located off the main road in Dornoch, walking distance to the beach, the town center and Royal Dornoch. The cottage was immaculate, has new windows since the picture on the site, and the sun room was a wonderful addition. Beds are very comfortable with soft linens and both baths are up to date and have excellent pressure. The yard made it feel even more spacious as all the bedrooms face it and not the street. Bedrooms are large except for the small one with a single bed. Excellent property

We stayed last year as well as this year and will stay again. The location is excellent and the rooms are exactly what we were looking for. The conservatory area is a big winner. We would happily recommend it to anyone and one of our party will be booking it for a family vacation. We will book it again for our annual golf vacation next year.

House was great for our needs as we were there to golf at Royal Dornoch Excellent proximity to town centre

  • A comfortable house but shabby in parts and not cleaned properly.
    3.7 OUT OF 5

Standards of cleaning were poor; superficially the house was tidy but there was greasy residue in the bath, soap residue on one of the basins and the top of the coffee table in the conservatory was filthy. Many of the drinking glasses were smeared and needed washing. The windows needed cleaning, especially in the conservatory. Overall the house was comfortable and well equipped but things appeared tired and shabby in places, specifically the hot plates on the hob and some of the kitchen units. However, it was the standard of cleanliness which surprised us as it fell short of Gael's usual standards. Our 'yes' recommendation below is based on the location and underlying comfort of the property.

Kerrisdale provided everything we wanted for our weekend. Clean, comfortable and well located. It would have been great to be able to have lit a fire in the sitting room - the kids enjoyed the cosy blankets provided!

We enjoyed the house. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The bathrooms have been updated and were very nice. It has a great location with easy parking right beside the house. It is an easy walk to Royal Dornoch Golf Club. It has a well equipped kitchen.. The house was not as luxurious as some, but it was well worth the money. We had 4 guys and it worked well for us. Some of the carpet and furnishing were dated, but everything was clean and worked well. The backyard was beautiful.

  • Good property in excellent location

Good property let down by second hand and shabby furnishings in some areas - dining room in particular. In need of some redecoration in most areas. Cooker, hob and sink top very dated and basic. Hand wash by the kitchen sink, kitchen roll, a dishcloth and a few dishwasher tablets would have been useful. Shower gel and a pedal bin in each bathroom would have been appreciated. Most rental properties now leave a small welcome pack - minimally a small carton of milk so at least a warm drink could be had on arrival. Flight delays sometimes mean you arrive after the shops are closed.

This was our 2nd time at Kerrisdale. I love the location and the conservatory is fabulous. There is so much room. We had four adults and too many golf clubs and it was very spacious. Book it ;) You will love it.

To not have a soap dish in the shower is crazy. No shelf for toiletries is equally crazy in the shower. No waste baskets any where but the kitchen?. No clothes dryer? Lots of room for improvement and most cost little.

Love the location. The house needs some work. A fresh coat of paint and new carpets in bedrooms, as well as plaster repairs would be a big benefit in appearance.

Kerrisdale is a lovely property located just a couple of minutes walk from the Royal Dornoch Golf Club, the center of Dornoch and the beach. The property has a fabulous conservatory off the kitchen where we spent most mornings and many afternoons following golf. The kitchen is spacious and better equipped than many self catering cottages which made cooking in during our 5 week stay much easier. The bathrooms have been updated and are very functional. The dining room comfortably held 6 and could do 8, and the lounge has comfortable seating and a nice television. There is only freeview however so don't expect to see much in the way of sporting events or movies should you get trapped indoors due to inclement weather or after a full day out and about. Two of the 3 bedrooms are quite roomy and comfortable, and the 3rd bedroom is small with only a single bed. All in all a very nice cottage and one I would recommend without reservation.

Dornoch is a lovely village with a great beach and golf course and a good base to tour this beautiful area of Scotland. The cottage is well located in the village. Newly fitted bathroom upstairs and shower room downstairs (no bedroom downstairs).

Really enjoyed our stay at this great cottage. Walking distance to beach and golf course as well as everything in Dornoch. The cottage is spacious and comfortable but could REALLY do with a larger fridge freezer and a dryer ... other than that it has everything you need.

Location

Kerrisdale is a family owned stone cottage with a secluded south-facing garden. A 5 minute walk from a spectacular beach and one of the best golf courses in the world - Kerrisdale is an ideal base for hill walkers and fishermen and is within easy walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants.
