Dornoch & Sutherland

The house was completed in 2015 and is exceptionally warm and comfortable.  The owners believe that a holiday home should be as well kitted out as home, and being keen amateur cooks they have set up the kitchen for plenty of cooking and entertaining.

The house has a smart TV with Sky+ and a good selection of books, games, cards and jigsaws to while away the time. The enclosed garden is mainly laid to lawn and the west facing terrace is equipped with barbecue, table and chairs from which guests can enjoy the sun late into summer evenings. There is a large shed for the storage of golf bags, bicycles etc.

Ground Floor Open plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen. 

The Sitting room has ample seating for up to 8, flat screen smart TV/DVD player with Sky+, selection of books, cards, jigsaws, games and DVDs, Bose sound dock

The Dining Room seats up to 8 at dining table with additional seating at breakfast bar. The sideboard is complete with crockery for 8 people

The Kitchen has dishwasher, double sink, larder fridge, electric induction hob, fan oven, extractor, combination microwave, toaster, kettle, French press (cafetière).  The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and entertaining

Utility Room.  Also known as the dog room, with door to garden, sink, washer/dryer, fridge/ freezer, coat hooks and space for dog bed

WC. The large WC includes a feature wall showing a map of the Highlands

Third bedroom:  Double (4’6”) bed, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror, bedside tables and bedside lights

Bathroom The spacious bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, WC, basin, heated towel rail and mirrors

Outside:  The front is laid to lawn with off street parking for 2 cars.  A side gate leads to the fully enclosed, west facing, rear garden which is mainly lawned, with a paved terrace, table, chairs and barbecue

Heating. The house is fully double glazed, and has solar PV/electric central heating and hot water

All bed linen, indoor towels, electricity, wifi and Sky+ are included in the price.

This holiday home is stocked with a starter supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher and laundry tablets, toilet rolls and other kitchen and bathroom supplies.  The owners’ larder in the kitchen is left open on an honesty basis – if you finish it you replace it.

Food shops: The Dornoch Stores is the town’s newly opened delicatessen and off-license.  There is a Co-op in the middle of the town and a convenience store on the retail park. Tesco, Asda and Lidl supermarkets are in Tain, which is 15 minutes’ drive away.  Dornoch also has a good selection of other shops including Jail for clothes, shoes, and gifts, the Bookshop, the Hardware Store, Dornoch Farm Butchers, the Antique Shop, Kincraig fabrics, garden centre, hairdressers, chemist, post office, an art gallery and the Courthouse with its whisky shop, spa and café.

The historic Cathedral is central to town life, and there are other denominations represented in the town.  There are also a museum and library

Restaurants: Luigi’s bistro, Sutherland House, Links House, The Eagle Hotel, Highland Spice Indian Restaurant

Cafes.  Cocoa Mountain, Luigi’s daytime, Harry Gow, the Courthouse

Pubs: The Eagle Hotel, Dornoch Inn, Castle Whisky Bar

There are a chip shop and both Indian and Chinese carry-outs.

Check in is any time after 4pm. Check out time is 10am.

Cancellation policy – 30% of the total rental is charged on the day of booking to confirm your booking with the final 70% due no later than 6 weeks before arrival. There is a 24-hour cooling off period after your booking is placed where you may cancel free of charge after which you will be required to pay the full rental amount if you cancel.

Cancellation protection policy is available during online booking.

There is a good housekeeping security deposit as shown on the online booking form.

2 dogs welcome at an additional cost of £5 per night per dog. Please ensure dogs sleep in the utility room.

Security deposit: an amount of £100 will be pre-authorised against the card you pay your final balance 10 days prior to arrival. This will reduce your available balance on your card by £100 for 30 days.

Rate table shows the base weekly rental rates only when the property is only available for weekly bookings. Short breaks may be available and are not shown below.     Even though this house is on a housing estate it was a very conveient place to stay, only a 5 minute walk into Dornoch. The house was very comfortable, furnished to a high standard and had everything you could possibly want.

    enjoyed stay and house is a short walk from centre of town and house is well equipped and comfortable


Location

Located in a quiet residential area of Dornoch close to the centre of the town, near the world renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Club and the many sandy beaches. Walking, fishing and other outdoor activities are all within easy reach.
