Oran Mor is new, modern and spotless and the location and views are more than you can ask for - from the mountains to the sea. It's a perfect base for exploring the area. Genevieve, John and their son Josh are very outgoing, helpful and thoughtful providing a welcome pack upon our arrival. We had a great 10-days stay and have taken home wonderful memories. We'd love to come back for a return visit.
everything you'd need for a luxury break

I couldn't fault any aspect of Oran Mor - the organisation and communication before the holiday was top notch; Genevieve and John met us on the evening we arrived and explained a couple of the high tech facilities in the house that we would not have figured out on our own! We'd brought a stack of DVDs to watch without realising there wasn't a DVD player, but John very kindly let us borrow a laptop to connect up so we could watch them. I've never stayed in such a beautiful holiday home (and we tend to hire a cottage whenever we go away, rather than stay in a hotel, so I guess we've seen a few) - it has been thoughtfully designed, furnished and kitted out with real care and love, which makes it feel so much more special than standard rental accommodation. It's been open for a year, but it still looks immaculate. The surrounding area is beautiful - remote, but well connected by a short car ride to Dornoch, which despite it being March, had plenty of things to occupy us for the week we stayed. We had a couple of bracing walks along the beautiful Embo beach, and enjoyed Skelbo forest trail (if you have wee ones, it's great as there are sculptures all the way round the 1.5 mile track to try and spot). We'd heard great things about Dunrobin Castle, which wasn't open (I think their season starts in April), which would be another great reason to return. We'd definitely stay here again in future. Thank you to Genevieve and JD for being fantastic hosts and curators of a beautiful place to relax and get away from it all.
A wonderful house in a fantastic location
