An Sealladh is a compact wooden lodge offering comfortable space for up to 3 guests in a peaceful location in the heart of the Black Isle. Inverness is 10 miles away and reached within 15 minutes by car. Both north and south coast of the Black Isle can be reached within 10 minutes. Rosemarkie beach and the infamous dolphin spotting town of Fortrose are easily accessible.

All rooms are on the ground floor

Lounge: two 2 seat settees, TV with Freeview channels, iPod dock, patio door with uninterrupted views across the countryside to the south. Fireplace with electric fire, additional electric panel heater.

Kitchen: Electric oven and hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge, electric kettle, dining table and 2 chairs (3rd chair in bedroom), electric panel heater.

Bedroom1: Double bed, bedside tables, bedside lights, wardrobe, TV, mirror, alarm clock radio, electric panel heater.

Bedroom2: Single bed, bedside cabinet, bedside light, wardrobe, mirror, alarm clock radio, electric panel heater.

Shower room: electric shower, wash hand basin, toilet.

Outside: Private driveway, small patio at front with table and chairs. Tumble drier and freezer are in the shed.

All bed linen, towels and tea towels (one hand towel and one bath towel per person)

30% of the total rental is charged on the day of booking to confirm your booking with the final 70% due no later than 6 weeks before arrival. There is a 24-hour cooling off period after your booking is placed where you may cancel free of charge after that you will be required to pay the full rental amount if you cancel.

Cancellation protection policy is available during booking or before the final balance payment is made.

Security deposit: an amount of £100 will be pre-authorised against the card you pay your final balance 10 days prior to arrival. This will reduce your available balance on your card by £100 for 30 days.

Rate table shows the base weekly rental rates only when the property is only available for weekly bookings. Short breaks may be available and are not shown below.     Enjoyed our short stay ,no problems! Your own transport is necessary as chalet is a bit out of the way otherwise nice and quiet.

    Perhaps a little more 'confined' than we had imagined - but the two adults and two cocker spaniels soon adjusted. Nothing was required and the location was excellent. Audrey was most helpful.

    Lovely accommodation with all home comforts in such a beautiful peaceful setting , the views from the patio were just spectacular , everything we required for our three night stay was there , and a huge thank you to Audrey for the beautiful shortbread , I would highly recommend this Chalet and will certainly be back

    The photo of the property made us think it was more isolated. We had two dogs and as it was not fully fenced off we were on edge worrying about them getting out on to the road or worse still into the field full of cattle in the adjoining field. The owner did not seem to be bothered whether we were okay as she never asked. She complained about some people expecting too much from a self-catering let. There was no welcome pack with information about the area or numbers in an emergency. no instructions on how to use the cooker etc so we had to go and ask on our first night. There was a cupboard full of half empty bottles of sauces, flour, pasta etc and three half used jars of jam in the fridge. Who knows how long they had been there. We loved the Black Isle and will go back but we did not enjoy going back to the property. We would use Gael Holidays again as they very professional. This was our experience but perhaps without dogs should be okay.

    Thank you for your feedback. I am very disappointed to have received such a negative review, I try at all times to communicate well with my guests without being intrusive and sort out any problems but I can only do this if I am informed of these problems. To address some of the points which may be useful for future guests. The chalet is fenced and netted on three sides with a hedge on the other side. Unfortunately the customers two dogs tried to dig under the fence between them and the field with the cows in it and I had to fill the two holes after they left! The oven does not operate when the clock is not set, and we had a couple of electricity outages that day. Anne called me when she couldn’t get it working and I immediately went over and set the clock. As I left I asked if everything was ok and was told yes, at no point was I informed of any problem. I intimated if there were anymore problems just to get in touch. I am more than happy to help guest with any requests or problems. At no point did I mention anything about people expecting too much from self catering ( good heavens this is my business after all!) The welcome pack is in the drawer in the living room with all necessary information regarding emergency numbers and all the information for the local area. The instructions for cooker etc are in the drawer in the kitchen. The cupboard does have bottles of soya sauce, chilli sauce etc I feel it very wasteful to throw away perfectly good condiments with very little out of them and a long shelf life and people seem very happy with this.

    An Sealladh is a lovely homely wee place. It is small but we (myself, husband and child) managed fine as there is plenty of storage. It's well equipped and the tumble dryer is a huge bonus. The views are lovely and it's a very peaceful location. Audrey was very friendly and helpful too.

    A small property internally similar, in size and space, to a static caravan. It is adjacent to the owner's property and was built as a home for an elderly member of the family so has all the facilities and comforts needed as a permanent dwelling. It is in the heart of the Black Isle countryside with magnificent views south, from the patio window, to the Grampians.The property is clean, comfortably furnished, heated and well equipped. The site has a well maintained garden with access from the small and comfortably furnished sitting room, via a patio door, at the rear of the property (lots of pretty flower tubs and baskets when we were there) so, if the weather allows, sitting and eating outside is a possibility as there is a picnic bench on the lawn. The perimeter of the site is completely fenced off from the surrounding fields and with hedging providing privacy from the adjacent very quiet access road. There is ample space for parking a car on-site. It has a double bedded room and a small single so could suit a family of three. We were two ladies using the two bedrooms. Although not large, there is adequate storage space in the bedrooms. Pets are allowed but we were pleased that the two dogs (average sized )were left at home as it could have felt a bit cramped with them in the property. The property is perfectly suitable to use as a base for touring the area. Shops are probably up to four or more miles away in the nearby communities. We shopped, when necessary, at the Co-op in Fortrose. We were in the area to visit a friend so would definately contemplate staying at the property again.


In the heart of the Black Isle located 10 miles from Inverness. Great location for a relaxing break, with views of the countryside, or for using as base to explore the wider Highlands. Central location not far from the coast.
