Located in an elevated position with spectacular views over Melvaig and the Minch overlooking the isle of Skye, Harris and Lewis from the conservatory as well as the bedrooms.

Otterburn1 is a semi-detached traditional cottage recently upgraded with new kitchen and bathroom.

Ground Floor:

Conservatory: Fantastic views over Melvaig and the Minch with the Isle of Skye, Harris and Lewis in the background. Ample seating to relax and unwind and watch the natural world go by.

Open plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner: 3 seat settee and 2 arm chairs, coffee table, TV with Freesat channels, electric fire. Dining table with chairs, kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans and kitchenware.

First floor:

Bedroom1: Double bed, beside cabinets, bedside lamps, 2 chest of drawers, mirror. Great views over Melvaig and the inner Minch.

Bedroom2: 2 single beds, bedside cabinet, bedside light, clothes storage, mirror.

Shower room: electric shower, wash hand basin, w.c.

Outside: Picnic bench, parking for 1 car, bike storage in shed, access to small beach 200 yards away. The natural garden is fenced so is secure for dogs and children.

Other info: Satellite Wi-fi is included at no extra cost however this is not suitable for streaming. The cottage has electric heating throughout. Water is heated by an electric eco system.

There is a clothes horse for drying clothes and ironing board and iron.

Option to rent both Otterburn 1 and Otterburn 2 together with internal adjoining door – will sleep 8 when booked together.

All bed linen, towels and tea towels (one hand towel and one bath towel per person)

Electricity & Wi-Fi: internet access is included at no extra cost.

A complementary starter pack of supplies: includes toilet rolls, complementary sachets of coffee, sugar, teabags.

Melvaig is a quiet hamlet just outside Gairloch. There are shops in Gairloch where guests can buy groceries and supplies. Opening hours are limited, it would advisable to buy supplies in Inverness or Dingwall prior to arrival.

It is advisable to book a table in local restaurants.

Entry details: arrival time is anytime after 4pm, latest departure time is 10am.

Up to 2 dogs welcome at an additional cost shown on booking form.

Note – care should be taken when walking to the beach as there are steep drop offs along the shore line. Children should be supervised at all times if leaving the garden area.

Cancellation policy – 30% of the total rental is charged on the day of booking to confirm your booking with the final 70% due no later than 6 weeks before arrival. There is a 24-hour cooling off period after your booking is placed where you may cancel free of charge after that you will be required to pay the full rental amount if you cancel.

Cancellation protection policy is available during booking or before the final balance payment is made.

Security deposit: an amount of £100 will be pre-authorised against the card you pay your final balance 10 days prior to arrival. This will reduce your available balance on your card by £100 for 30 days.

Rate table shows the base weekly rental rates only when the property is only available for weekly bookings. Short breaks may be available and are not shown below. Rates do not include additional booking fee of £24 or £28 where applicable. Seasonal offers are available at times where no or a reduced booking fee applies.

    I really don't think words could descibe this rental, you have to see it, to believe it Stunning views, Well thought out creature comforts. Everything is well finnished off, the conservatory to embrace the sun when it is very windy. Glorious night skies and sunsets. There is a grocers in Gairloch for everyday essentials and more. Wonderful helpful owner


Situated in Melvaig on the west coast, 15 miles from Gairloch in Wester Ross. A 20 minute drive from Gairloch. Views over the Minch to Rona, Raasay and the Isle of Skye.
