Very close to the Inverness bus and train station just across the river. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. A Tesco grocery store is on the next block. The apartment is completely furnished, including a dishwasher, microwave, hob and oven, full-size fridge and freezer, plates, cutlery, glasses, cooking utensils, pots and pans, wash-up liquid and tablets, laundry detergent, water kettle. There is even a coffee machine (which unfortunately needed descaling when we were there and so did not work). There is a TV set and a number of DVDs. It has WiFi. The place is ideal for two people (maybe three - depending on whether the owner will allow it). The apartment is on the top floor; it is not for people with mobility requirements because the only way to the apartment is up a flight of stairs. After you complete your payment for your booking, they will send you an email giving you details about how you could get the keys to the flat - and where you are supposed to leave them at check out. Check in time is a bit late: 3pm; check out is 10am. I tried negotiating an early check in but was told (very politely ) that they had a guest on the day we were arriving, which meant they have to clean the place first. I would very likely stay here again next time I'm in Inverness because I value the privacy a private apartment gives you (compared with a B&B or a hotel). I did not meet any person at all during the check in and check out and so felt that it was a place I could call my own during my stay.

We were very pleased with the check in process given that this location is a self entry property, great information. Also happy with the provided parking permit to allow us to park on King Street, would have been difficult without it. It's a short walk across the pedestrian bridge into town. The appliances were a little loud at times but the apartment had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Lots of small details made the space feel well thought out given there isn't a huge amount of spare room. Will try to stay here again in future.

My husband and I visited Inverness for 5 days and stayed at 65 King Street. It was perfect for us! The apartment was clean, spacious enough for two people, and very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped (we cooked most of our meals in the apartment), the shower had plenty of hot water, and the bed was very comfortable. We slept like babies during our stay. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer in the apartment. It was just a 5 minute walk across the "bouncy" bridge to reach the city Centre. We so enjoyed being away from tourist central and staying in a residential neighborhood. Communication with Gael Holiday Homes was quick, efficient, and informative. Do yourself a favor, stay at 65 King Street during your stay in Inverness. And if you have a car, a parking permit is provided. We were always able to park right outside the door of the building. Very convenient! Mike and Susan (Dallas, Texas)

Key pick up was easy and contact with the owner was friendly and helpful. Located near all the important places in the city, restaurants, shops and supermarket in walking distance. We enjoyed our stay very much and were able to easily reach all the beautiful places in the Highlands by car. We will come back for sure!!

This is a great place to call it home for a few days in the heart of the Highlands. Easy to get to by car, great access to main roads, own parking on the street. The apartment is in the second floor with no lift. Cozy, warm feeling...the bathroom even has heated floors! The owner has everything you need if you do not fancy going out (books, DVDs) and you have a a great choice of coffee makers for your morning breakfast. The bed is very comfortable, the area is quiet...but you can get on foot to many great places for a dinner or just a drink and live music. Overall a great experience!

The location and customer services were excellent. They went out of their way to accept our luggage in advance of check in time....a fact we greatly appreciated! Thank you! We would stay there again in the future. This is in no way a negative, just an FYI for those considering the location. 1) It is upstairs....for those challenged by stairs this might not be the best choice. For us it was not an issue. And 2) because the apartment is on the top floor, a portion of the bathroom ceiling is a bit low for those of us that are a bit taller. The bedroom is comfortable but again has some limitations due to the sloping roofs.....nothing that took away from the quality of the stay. We loved the fact we could walk to the center of Inverness in just 10 minutes.......PERFECT!

The location was perfect--historic area, near River Ness, easy walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Inverness. The flat was well-appointed with all the types of kitchen appliances, dishes, etc we could have needed & basic condiments so we could just do basic shopping & be set for our 5 days. Extremely clean! Modern appliances (with manuals :-)) & wi-fi were very convenient. Was easy to book through Gael homes. Tall people may feel a bit cramped by the low ceilings, but that was no issue for us. We loved being up high in the building for the great views. We would stay there again in a minute!

A modern and convenient flat to stay in when visiting Inverness, a 5 minute stroll to centre of town and a couple minutes to the local Tesco. Although this top floor apartment is compact and bijou it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped galley kitchen; comfortable lounge area; quirky shower room- heated 24/7; bedroom had plenty of storage and liked the comfy bed; hallway with vacuum cleaner, airers,etc- and umbrellas which, thankfully, I didn't need. The owners have taken great care to provide as much comfort as possible. Some downsides for me include noisy fridge/freezer, a couple of electrical sockets need attention(loose/broken), some issues wih dust (there was quite a layer of it on top of headboard). Not a downside as such but I would have preferred an ordinary low level table and chairs. But don't let my niggles put you off I would recommend this apartment as a great place to stay as a base your visit to the region. Enjoyed my brief stay and hope to come back again sometime.

Kathleen, owner of King Street Apartment Reply on 30/05/2016
Thank you for your review and for drawing the above to our attention. We have raised the dust with the cleaner as a matter of urgency. I will look into the damaged sockets today as I had not noted any damage when in the flat and I am there each time there is a changeover. The fridge freezer can be a little noisy if moved for cleaning as it may not then be level. Again, thank you for drawing our attention to this issue and we will address ASAP.

Had an excellent stay. The appartment was exactly what we were looking for. Apart from minor issues such as a light out in the kitchen and the fact we don't have an I phone 4 so I couldn't plug into the speaker system it is kept to a very good standard. The location is Excellent!!! The design of the flat was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Two things on improvement I would suggest. (1) A newer mattress - the mattress is uneven and has seen better days. (2) The television has broken lines through the screen so is not a 100% clear screen. Both can be easily rectified though and did not dent our overall experience of the flat and city whatsoever. We had a great time using the flat as my base for a few days and will recommend to others

The owners organised a handyman to fix it however we had to wait in for handyman to come and fix it. The handyman thought we were staying there, letting out apartment!! Two hours of holiday wasted and was not allowed later check out for doing so. The parking permit was out if date but the parking on the street was bad and was occasion had nowhere to park and had to watch for space being available!!! Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that everything was not to the standard that we set for guests arriving. I have discussed this with the cleaning company who have very high standards and would not wish to overlook anything and both them and I apologise for this disappointment. We pride ourselves on high standards, as many guests have commented on in past reviews, however on the rare occasion when there is a problem we are more than happy for guests to contact us on the telephone number we provide so we may remedy issues promptly. We didn’t hear from you during your stay but have checked the hot water supply since and couldn’t find a fault. The water is electrically heated but has to be turned on with the switch located at the bathroom door. We are glad you enjoyed you stay nevertheless and hope you will visit again.

This is a great apartment for an independent traveller, The location is excellent and there is a little corner shop across the road and it is only a couple of blocks from a larger supermarket. The apartment was spotless.. All our needs were met and the owner had kindly left copies of the manuals for the appliances - something we could have done with in other locations we have stayed. There are two things I should mention. While not an issue for us, the apartment is up two flights of stairs so if you have heavy luggage or are unable to do stairs this may not be the best choice for you. As this is an attic conversion very tall males may find the bathroom troublesome. That apart, I would recommend this lovely attic apartment to anyone.

A great little flat for a couple, very well equipped and comfortable. Only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town, yet still very quiet. We have stayed in a lot of self catering accommodation in a number of countries, and this stood out as amongst the best.

  • Wonderful escape clean and close to everything.

I LOVED my stay at 65 King Street. It was a perfect place for me. I found it to be quite spacious, very clean and had all the things I needed. The layout is very clever and attractive. There is a corner shop next door and a Chinese takeaway on the next block and two blocks away is a TESCO. The city is easy walk and the views are lovely. I will most definitely stay there again when I next visit Inverness. Thank you! Lorene, Caldwell, Idaho, USA

Excellent location and easily accessible for the city centre and local tourist attractions. The flat was very welcoming and the decor and layout were superb and met our every need. Being an attic flat, it could get cold through the night when the heating was off - but it was lovely and snug at other times. All in all, a great little place to base for a trip to inverness.

I enjoy thr stay at thr apartment. It was clean, warm and all you need was there. One thing wasn't good, the heater in the bedroom doesn't work. In the evening it was cold in there.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry that you did not get in touch to ask for help with switching on the heater in the bedroom. I believe the bulb has failed in the light which comes on when it is heating and this may have caused some confusion. We will arrange for the bulb to be replaced asap and we are looking at gas CH in the flat in the near future We trust you will come back to visit us again and we will ensure you are toasty warm...

We loved couple of days at King Street Apartment. Comfortable bed, clean space and nice kitchen. As we are mature couple climbing on the high chairs to eat at high table was only a negative point, but we worked around that. We wanted to stay day or so longer but the apartment was not available - host however provided a lead for our next stay.

The King Street apartment is well appointed and situated in a great location for people who like to walk. Everything you need is provided - from tea and coffee to detergents, soaps and even a welcome bottle of wine. We enjoyed our stay here very much. For taller people, the attic ceilings are a bit confining, but for me (5'3") they were no problem. I highly recommend this rental. We did not see anyone connected with the apartment, as all bookings were done via email and on-line and worked out exactly as descibed, and we had no problems.

King Street apartment is a top floor apartment in a quiet city location just off the main city centre. King Street is on the west side of the River Ness and has everything you need on the doorstep, including a restaurant, take away food, pharmacy and corner shop. Less than 5 minutes stroll across the Victorian bridge over the River Ness or along the riverside are a host of bars, restaurants and shops.
