It is in a perfect location for fishing which we did day and night. The wildlife is amazing to watch from the balcony whilst drinking tea in the mornings.

We had the chance of a few days at the start of a longer self catering trip to Scotland and knew of Broc Cabin from our visit to Loch Ruthven Bird hide to view Slavonian Grebes that breed there. Broc was also one of the few s/c places that take short term bookings and not just a full week/Sat-Sat which we liked as we try and travel mid week where we can. As requested we telephoned news of our approach to the owner in order that we could be met for the 'admin' side and all was well. A very warm and friendly reception. The cabin was everything and more that we could require and in a clean and tidy condition. Everything worked as it should. Grounds were very rural and my Camera Trap caught a Deer hind with small calf passing through one afternoon. Lots of birds were seen from the cabin which also has excellent views down over the loch. We had a very enjoyable few days and look forward to our return.

We stayed in Broc log cabin last week and had a great time. The cabin is comfortable and has all the mod cons you might need. The view from the cabin over Loch Ruthven is stunning. There is plenty of wildlife. We had a resident pheasant and his wives. Also saw deer in the woods and many varieties of small birds used the seed feeder. It's a great location.Feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, but Inverness is only 15 minutes away by car.Highly recommend.

It was amazing. Views from the cabin are spectacular. The owner is lovely and very helpful. The accommodation is spotless, very clean and so well equipped and very comfortable. It was a fantastic holiday! Everything we need. The owner even bought a new change mat for me as I had a 3 month old baby. The area around was so safe for my two older boys (age 7 and 4) to explore and we found a beautiful play area not to far from the cabin. Thank you to Broc log cabin. It was great and we would highly recommend staying there.

Cabin was lovely, everything you need was there. No complaints really. Location was outstanding, beautiful views and very close to the loch. We spent most of the time at the loch, in the nature reserve, or just staring at the views. Not too far from fort Augustus, on Loch Ness. Great location.

Broc log cabin is located by a beautiful loch and so the views are amazing. There is so much to do in the area but it hasn't been spoilt by tourism at all. On every walk we encountered deer, red squirrels and birds of prey. The cabin is very cosy and well-equipped with better wifi than we have at home! We can't recommend it enough!

Broc log cabin has a great view on Loch Ruthven. We enjoyed the peace there , the Kids could play in the nature around the cabin. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well equiped. The owners Dave and Carol are very helpfull. We had a short Power failure during our stay and although they already had flashing lights in the cabin, they brought us candles and made sure we are all right.

We enjoyed our stay as we were close to the loch we fished daily. Only downside is that the kitchen is small and that there is no freezer (we wanted to freeze our fish). Brilliant as there is wifi.

  • A stunning getaway

We stayed the first week in July the weather was awful but every creature comfort was available at the cabin even a power shower. The views were stunning the canin is located amongst three others next yo a nature reserve. Access is four miles down basically s farm track. My only criticism if you returned to the cabin after 6.30!you souls have yo navigate yourself around large herds of cattle as the farmer clearly opens all his gates quite unnerving when young bullocks try and stampede you. However in time hopefully this can be resolved. I cannot compliment carol the owner enough she is so helpful would highly recommend this as it really is a unique experience

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Broc Log Cabin. The setting is absolutely beautiful. The cabin is in a fairly remote location, but that was part of the charm. We did daylong excursions each day (going a different direction each day) and found the location to be quite central for exploring the Highlands. The cabin is cozy and a bit rustic. We cooked our meals there two nights (and ate out at Dores Inn one night-amazing!) and found the kitchen to be adequate for our needs. The beds are quite firm (I might suggest some sort of mattress pad to soften them), but we both slept well and awoke refreshed and ready to explore the beautiful area around the cabin each day.

The lodge was very well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. The views were beautiful and the deck provided an amazing sun trap - we stayed in April when the weather was changeable but when the sun shone, you benefitted. It was a nice distance from civilisation but lots to do near by. Just a 15 minute drive to Loch Ness and just a bit further to reach Inverness and there were a couple of local restaurants nearby if you wanted to get out, one which provided a pick up/drop off service which was excellent. Satellite TV, broadband, board games and a CD player were provided which were great when in on the evenings. We would definitely recommend for a short break, a great base to enjoy the countryside.
