  • One Week Stay

We stayed here for one week in August. The house really was home from home. We were met and greeted by Anne on arrival. There was tea, coffee, milk, shortbread and a lovely pot of homemade marmalade to welcome us to this beautiful part of Scotland. Dornoch is rural, quiet and stunningly beautiful.....Everything that we wanted for a week away from the hustle and bustle of London. The Coach House is very well equipped and and spacious. We didn't come across any obstacles, everything we looked for or needed was there. It is modern and clean. Has off street parking and an out side area to sit and listen to the stillness of the night. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, it was well worth the 12 hour drive. We walked the coastal path everyday with our dog and were left in awe in each time.

  • Great location for a stay in Dornoch

The coach house is a lovely cottage in a very good location close to the golf course. It was great that our dog could also stay and we had a great week with lots of long walks taking in the fantastic scenery. Although there are beds for 4, there were just the two of us - plenty of space to spread out - I suspect space would be tight if 4 adults were staying as the bedrooms are quite small. Overall I would not have any hesitation recommending the coach house and would definitely book again if staying in Dornoch.

  • Great place for experiencing East Sutherland, not far from Inverness.

Everything was fine. Rooms comfortable. Situation great - easy walking distance from the centre f town, and even easier to the golf club. The only annoyance was that the fridge had a tendency to rattle noisily. Could probably be fixed by adjusting the legs, or standing on a beermat :)

Had to make repeat visit to area within a fortnight and was delighted that the coach house was available again. Made one comment about hand rails in shower area and was delighted that these were fitted for my return as they were promised. Great place, really great people to deal with, thanks

Excellent small house, third bedroom very small but house overall spotless and very well equipped. Had my 90 year old Dad with me and he found it difficult to climb in and out of bath to use shower, spoke to owner when leaving about this, she was very apologetic and said hand rails will be fitted this week so our next say would be perfect. That's what you call customer care. Thanks you so much

Really loved the cottage - it was a perfect base for us and very convenient for walking to the village and the golf club. Felt very at home. The only issue we had was that the agency had not confirmed to the key holder that our dates had changed from the original booking so when we arrived on Thursday night we couldn't access the property which was a slight niggle given the long drive and that it was 9.30 at night. The key holder was very apologetic but this obviously was not her fault. This did not detract in any way from our enjoyment of the cottage, but feel it needs to be noted. We would definitely stay here again.

We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your constructive feedback about the key collection. We have investigated this and find that the agency did pass the date modification of your booking to the owner but this regretfully didn’t get through to the housekeeper/key holder. We have since discussed this with the owner and housekeeper to ensure there is improved communication in any future similar situations. We apologise for this glitch and are glad this didn’t detract from your enjoyment of The Coach House and hope you will visit again soon.

Had a great stay at the Coach House in Dornoch. It was clean, spacious and well equipped. It had off street parking and it was in a great location . The owner had provided some tasty treats on arrival which were very welcoming. It had outdoor seating and an enclosed garden for the dog . He had a great time. Would definitely come back.

Everything was as expected. The building is unimposing from the outside and simply furnished within. One of the single rooms is very small and the two reception rooms at either end of the house are unconventional. There is a small garden which gets the evening sun.

Nice place. Has everything you need. In general it was clean, but we found some rubbish from previous guests under the bed. Bathroom is very cold as there is no heater and windows are single glazed.

Ideal base for our short break - great that the dog was welcome too. Cottage has everything you need with plenty of space due to the additional seating in the entrance porch area although weather was so sunny we made use of the outdoor seating in the enclosed garden. Lovely warm welcome from the owner and the milk, shortbread & marmalade were appreciated. Hope to be back

Thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Coach House. Cottage was clean and comfortable, and a nice touch was the little welcome gift of milk and a jar of locally made marmalade. Shortly after our arrival, the owner popped in to check that we had everything we needed. Internet access was important and Wi-Fi service at the cottage was good. Dornoch is a lovely little town on the North Coast 500 route and it proved to be a good base to access the lovely scenery that the North of Scotland has on offer. Dornoch itself has the well known Golf course, a couple of nice pubs, restaurants and small local shops. The dog particularly enjoyed racing around on the beach which affords the opportunity to take long, uninterrupted, sandy walks.

Location

Located on Argyle Street, just a short stroll from Dornoch main square, the holiday home is in an ideal location for the shops, restaurants and bars of the town as well as only a few hundred yards away from the Royal Dornoch Golf course and Dornoch beach.
