We had a wonderful holiday at Balorrin, the location is fantastic and the house is very spacious and well equipped. I would definitely recommend this for a family trip!

Most enjoyable stay in a beautiful location with plenty of gorgeous walks and sites to visit on the doorstep. The facilities within the cottages itself were more than adequate with lovely gardens surrounding the cottage. The only blight i have to mention and which prevented us from immediately rebooking was the mattress in the master suite which was far too firm and affected our sleep quite considerably. The pillows were also too firm in the guest bedrooms. This of course is a personal thing but would be helpful if mattress and pillows could be changed prior to our visit on request.

Late in the season so maybe a bit tired looking. Oven needs some attention. Looked very clean when first entering the cottage but later find a few problems with cleanliness.

Thanks for your review, criticisms are always helpful in bringing points to our attention. Partly as a reaction to your 'tired' comment we did an extensive reassessment of the cottage in November along with extensive interior painting. Alas, in January we had a major burst (despite the heating being on) and as a result we now have new wooden flooring, some new ceilings, repainting throughout and all is now bright and cheery! We will be taking extra care in the cold weather this coming winter

  • Spacious, well equipped property.

We have stayed in Balorrin before and will do so again. It is a spacious well equipped property and is convenient for my husband who fishes the Conon. We would prefer a Sunday to Sunday let for that reason. Having taken our son and his family with us this time, the wifi arrangements proved very expensive!! We would prefer a fixed system, even if it meant a slightly higher rental charge.

The house is spacious, comfortable and well located. There is plenty to see and to do (dolphin watching, mountain biking, walking), the next supermarket is not far away and the garden is great for playing football. The table tennis in the garage was used every day. Whenever coming back to Scotland, this is our first choice.

Enjoyed a week at Balorrin with our dog, Nico, who loved the local walks on the doorstep (there is an excellent dog walk starting right outside the back door). The cottage is well equipped which meant the usual extras that we bring (such as sharp knives for cooking) were just not needed. It's a great place to relax yet close to local amenities in Muir of Ord (great butcher) and places of interest. I think we will be back.

  • Our second stay and again an excellent one

We stayed with 7 people for the first part of the week and there was still plenty of space. We love the layout of the house and it works really well for us, there was a minor problem with the boiler which was sorted out straight away ( great to see that if something needs fixing it is done so fast)

The house was beautiful, comfortable, fully equipped and clean. The landlady was friendly, helpful and thoughtful. It was an excellent location for the towns and cities, but more importantly for us wonderfully slapped in the middle of nowhere. We wanted an escape, to walk in the hills. The landscape is stunning, which is clearly seen from the living room. It seemed better than home, we could have lived there.

Very spacious cottage with a good layout, and well equipped with everything that we needed. Balorrin has beautiful secluded gardens, and is well situated for exploring the countryside, coast, and nearby villages and towns and the city of Inverness.

A lovely light open plan living room, comfortable bedrooms and modern bathrooms made this a good venue for us. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was a pleasant garden with outside furniture. Unfortunately this year the midge problem was worse than it had been for some years so our sitting out time was curtailed. We will almost certainly book this property again

A beautiful holiday home in a truly wonderful location, if you want comfort in peace then this is for you. Located on a quiet road you can see nature (including deer) from the window. The river Orin is just a 2 minute walk from the door & the falls of Orin approx a 10 mins walk away via the estate road and woods, Would definitely stay at this property again.

A lovely house based in a beautiful part of the country. This was an excellent base for touring the Highlands and allowed us to visit some major attractions such as Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Ness and Inverness Castle. The cottage was comfortable and extremely spacious with 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The log burning stove was a nice touch and helped to warm the cottage up in the chillier evenings. The information provided on the surrounding area was useful and helped when looking for places such as the Highland Stoneware Company and arranging some walsk in themlocal area. The wi-fi was tricky but we managed to get the hang of it and it served to highlight how easy things are in less rural areas!

The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was in a lovely location for us, with walks round about and plenty of peace and quiet - might not suit everyone, though. It was well equipped - we particularly liked the table tennis table, which was used most days. We also enjoyed using the bikes - would have used them more if weather had been more settled. The only thing which the cottage didn't have and which would have been useful was wifi, but it was not essential.
