Tigh na Mara is a lovely old Edwardian property sitting right on the seafront of Rosemarkie bay.

It has been recently renovated and is perfect for large family gatherings, golfing groups or friends reunions. There is ample off- street parking for up to 5 cars and an enclosed garden with patio and summer house.

Rosemarkie is central in the Black Isle, a lovely village with an old- fashioned feel - the wide sweeping bay is perfect for rock-pooling with your little ones,then a cup of tea and home -baking at the friendly beach cafe while the children play in the park right beside it.

If you are feeling more adventurous there are regular dolphin watching boat trips from the nearby villages of Avoch or Cromarty. Both riding and pony-trekking are possible in wonderful countryside and also quad-biking is available in the area. For mountain- biking enthusiasts there are the famous Red-Rock trails very close by, between Rosemarkie and Cromarty .

In Rosemarkie there is a very good butcher/deli, a small supermarket and a pub. In Fortrose,the nearest village only 15 minutes walk away, there are 2 very good restaurants, a pub, supermarket and good range of shops.

Just 5 minutes stroll along the strand brings you to Fortrose and Rosemarkie golf club with its challenging links courses,and for enthusiasts you are within 45 mins of either Castle Stuart or Royal Dornoch courses. Altogether 37 different courses are within 1 -2 hours driving distance!

Inverness is only 14 miles away with many attractions as well as the shopping centres such as Culloden battlefield or Loch Ness just 12 miles to the south.

Accommodation & Facilities

Double front doors which are wheelchair friendly leading to the hall with pitch-pine staircase leading to on the ground floor : Sitting room with wide bay window with window seat looking out to the bay straight across the road, seating for 8 on 2 settees and 2 armchairs, further seating on window seat; open fire, television with DVD player, I pod-dock.

Second smaller sitting room also with open fire or electric fire, seating for 6, TV with DVD.

Double bedroom with double bed wardrobe and plenty of storage, bathroom with bath with shower over, side door to back garden area with barbecue,patio area with garden furniture and summer house with small decked area and seating for 4.

Dining room with seating for 12, wood-burning stove, wide bay window looking over to sea with window seat, open to the Fully fitted Kitchen with Rangemaster range cooker with induction hob,fan and conventional ovens, microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, central island with seating for 3, double Belfast sink, kettle, toaster, food-processor etc.

Family bathroom.

Utility/boot room with washing machine and tumble dryer and small cloakroom toilet off with door to garden.

On first floor - to right near top of stairs is the Back bedroom - quiet room looking over the back garden with large built in wardrobe, king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with hand-held shower. This room could be a good choice for anyone with a young baby as it is a little bit away from the other bedrooms.

To left up 3 stairs then on the right is the'yellow room' - this can be a twin room or the beds can be zip-linked to make a king-size bed. This room has a new en-suite shower which is very powerful and built in wardrobe.

To left at top of stairs is another twin room with en suite shower room which is also accessible from the landing.

At the front of the house are 2 large bedrooms with views over the bay. The left side has an en-suite shower room and kingsize bed, the right side has a super kingsize bed and en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and is definitely the master bedroom.

On the landing there is also a large walk-in linen cupboard.

Behind the main house and built on to the garage is a building which was formerly a classroom but is now set up as a games/rumpus/ get away from it all room with a piano, small snooker table, TV for use with games and table football.

The garden has a gate at the back leading to a little path which children can run along to get to Rosemarkie's play park recently renewed with zip slides, climbing frames and all manner of fun activities.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.

A refundable security deposit of £250 will be required as part of your final balance payment.

We are happy to accommodate up to 2 dogs at £15 per dog per week.

All bed linen and towels are included in the price

Welcome hamper provided

Extra logs - £10 per bag

On most occasions guests would be met by the owners upon arrival. A key safe is also available when this is not possible of when it would be more convenient for the guests

Location & Directions

Inverness airport is 21 miles , regular buses to Inverness and easy car hire; Good train service from London and central belt to Inverness and car hire

Driving - from south on A9, cross Kessock Bridge and take turn off to Cromarty.

Come through Munlochy and turn right signposted to Cromarty.

Continue along to Rosemarkie,turn right down Hawkhill road - you will see the sea at bottom of road ,turn right and Tigh na Mara is no. 12 Marine Terrace on your right.

House was superb right across the road from the beach. Really suitably for family get together holidays. Fab kitchen dining area with log burning stove. Bedrooms spacious with ensuite. Lovely restaurant practically next door. We had a lovely relaxing weekend and would highly recommend this property.
