Comfortable and fully equipped small cottage, located some three miles from the Historic market town of Dornoch, with its golf courses and beach.

The cottage is in a peaceful and quiet location, surrounded by lovely views. Ideal for active holidays, hill walking, mountain biking or golfing or quieter pursuits such as fishing and bird watching at Loch Fleet. The cottage provides a superb base from which to enjoy the countryside and the coast with its abundance of wild animals and bird life. Within walking distance of the cottage is Loch Fleet Nature Reserve. Common seals regularly bask on the sandbars at low tide and you can enjoy watching a wide range of wildfowl and wading birds.There are reqular sightings of Osprey hunting in the reserve. Sand dunes and coastal heath are also rich in wild flowers.

Also within walking distance is Skelbo Wood with a walk that includes carved wooden animals designed by local children, and the remains of a 2000 year old broch.

This small cottage offers a quite and peaceful space to unwind and relax whilst enjoying the views. A rear storage room provides a secure location for bikes, golf and fishing equipment.The enclosed garden provides a safe playing area for children, and patio equipment is provided.

The local hotel is one mile from the cottage and provides both restaurant and bar facilities. A variety of evening entertainment during the summer is available locally at "Grannies Heilan hame", Embo. The cottage is within three miles Dornoch which provides a good range of shops, hotels and restaurants. Local golf courses include Royal Dornoch, The Struie (also at Dornoch), Golspie, Brora, Strathpeffer, Tain, Fortrose and Bonar Bridge. Mountain bilking in the area also includes the "Highland Wildcat Trails", which have been built on side of Ben Bhraggie. This features black and red graded routes, going from the summit of the hill down to the village of Golspie, including the longest singletrack descent in the UK at around 7 km.

The West and North coasts of the Scotland are easily accessible on day trips whilst Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is some 45 miles south by road. Dunrobin Castle and Gardens visable from the cottage is 20 minutes north by road. There are also two whisky distilleries in the area.

Bed linen & towels are included as is electricity.

The holiday home is stocked with a starter supply of washing up liquid, toilet rolls and other kitchen and bathroom supplies.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

No smoking is permitted within the holiday home. A refundable security deposit of £50 will be required as part of your final balance payment.

Location & Directions

By car from the South - follow the A9 north until you cross over the Dornoch Firth Bridge.

Continue north on the A9 approximately 1.5 miles (passed the A949 signposted to Dornoch) until you reach the Trentham Hotel - and take the right hand turn immediately opposite the hotel, into a single track road.

The cottage site in its own garden one mile down this road - on the left hand side.
