Ivydene Cottage

Ivydene Cottage

Ivydene Cottage is a terraced townhouse located in a peaceful square in the original part of Cromarty. Dating back to the late 1700s, the cottage is one of the oldest properties in this quaint fishing village and was totally re-fitted in 2007. Ivydene Cottage offers exceptionally comfortable, deceptively spacious and modern self-catering accommodation within a traditional listed exterior and is an ideal base for a relaxing family holiday in the Highlands.

The cottage is conveniently located in the conservation town of Cromarty, only a two minute walk from the beach and a short walk from shops, local eateries and inns. There is parking directly outside the cottage for up to two cars.

Cromarty, at the tip of the fertile Black Isle peninsula, is an idyllic holiday destination; famous for its favourable micro-climate and clean sandy beaches. The town has slipway facilities and the sheltered waters offer good sailing. There are lovely coast and countryside walks in the area as well as sea angling, cruises, top golf courses and quiet roads for cycling.

This is an ideal base for exploring the wider Highland region: north to John o'Groats, south to Loch Ness or west to Gairloch and the rugged West Highlands. Inverness is a half hour drive away.

A low occupancy discount is available for bookings of less than 8 guests at certain times of year.

The rental was very well situated in a small village with small supermarket, shops, restaurants and cash machine. The owners were very welcoming and discreet. The rental was very clean and spacious and well equipped. There were 2 bathrooms with 2 toilets . We could park without problems in front of the house. The heating was included in the price .

Cromarty is a quiet, picturesque, unspoilt village on the beautiful Black Isle. Ivydene is right in the heart of the village, just a few steps from the bakery and general store, the beach and harbour. The accommodation was clean and well presented with everything we needed for our family holiday.

Clean, spacious house, and warm. Lovely village. Good beaches and walking. Dolphin spotting. Places of historical interest such as Cawdor Castle and Fort George.
