Larchfield
Larchfield
Situated to the south of Inverness, Daviot offers visitors a peaceful and relaxing picturesque setting with spectacular countryside views. This is an ideal base to explore the north of Scotland and the Isle of Skye. The quiet and spectacular beaches of the west and east coasts are waiting to be discovered. Perfect location for the best of both worlds - in an idyllic quiet scenic Highland location yet only a few minutes drive from Inverness.
Larchfield holiday home is a 3 bedroom, spacious self catering modern house, sleeping up to 6 guests, equipped to the highest of standards, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable location to make the most of a relaxing holiday or as a base to explore the wider Scottish Highlands.
Daviot village, once home to the author Alistair MacLean whose father was the minister at the local church, is in an ideal location just off the A9 and about 20 minutes from Inverness airport, train and bus stations. Culloden Battlefield is only a few miles from the house as is Tomatin Distillery.
A 25 minute drive south will take you to Landmark activity centre Aviemore ski resort and Cairngorm National Park. Just another few miles on from there you can visit Kingussie Wildlife Park. Travel north towards Inverness to Drumsmittal Wildlife Park, take a trip on a boat to spot the dolphins or visit Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Inverness itself offers a choice of restaurants, live music, Vue cinema and Eden Court Theatre. The city has two golf courses or the links courses of Nairn and Dornoch are within an hour away.

If your preference is to spend time in the great outdoors then you will enjoy a multitude of forest and hill walks and the local cycle track network. General Wade’s Military Road, which once connected the south to Inverness, is only a few metres from the front door. Of course Scotland is famous for its fishing and we are a short distance from the rivers Nairn, Findhorn and Spey. Sea fishing is also available. Only a few miles from the house is Bogbain Farm where visitors can try their hand at Clay Pigeon Shooting and archery and the children can try quad biking.

A beautiful and very comfortable home, with stunning views.
We are used to welcome packs, but none as extensive as the supplies we
found waiting for us - we truly did only need to bring clothes!
A very enjoyable few days, sorry it couldn't be longer.
