Maus Steading is a charming three bedroom cottage located on a brow of a hill overlooking the Dornoch Firth. It has been recently refurnished & equipped to a high modern standard.

Situated exactly 1 mile north of historic Dornoch, it will serve as an ideal base for golf, hill-walking, beach strolling or simply to unwind & relax. The property consists of established seaview front garden & large sunny back garden, both enclosed & suitable for outdoor eating and children.

Dornoch is a small seaside town long famous for its championship golf course, superb beaches, historic cathedral, and sandstone buildings. It sits within a National Scenic Area and just minutes away from the steading are a choice of endless beaches and duneland as well as Loch Fleet Nature Reserve, an area rich in bird and wildlife.

Within driving distance are an abundance of areas of breath-taking beauty and outdoor activity. For the hardy walker there are munros and corbetts in NW Sutherland, while close by just outside Dornoch are Skelbo Wood and Camore Wood & the Big Burn Hike and Ben Bhragghie in Golspie.

Maus Steading is perfect for cyclists. Town & the beaches are just down the hill, but lovely rides from 10 to 50 miles on winding, car-free roads are at your access. Bikes will be secure in the attached shed.

Other attractions include Dornoch's Historylinks museum, the ever popular Dunrobin Castle in Golspie and the whiskey distilleries of Glenmorangie, Clynelish, Dalmore & Balblair.

Ample off street parking for multiple cars. Large attached stone shed for outdoor/biking equipment storage.

Towels, linens, hair dryers provided.

Bathroom : WC, Walk-in wet room high-pressure shower, radiator, large wash basin, towel rack.

Utility room : Washing machine, tumble dryer, coat hooks, wall mounted clothes airer, ironing board, iron.

First floor

Bedroom : King size bed, ample cabinet space, dressing table/stool, reading chair, sisal carpet.

Bedroom : Cosy King size bed, bedside cabinet, bedside table, reading chair, sisal carpet.

All bed linen, towels, electricity, internet access and parking are included in the price.

The cottage is stocked with a starter supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls and other kitchen and bathroom supplies.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

A refundable security deposit of £50 will be required as part of your final balance payment.

Entry time is anytime after 14:00, departure time is 09:30.

Location & Directions

Maus Steading is located 1.1 miles north of Dornoch town square. Arrive into town, go past cathedral and make left at square in heart of town. Drive through trees & up the hill on road to Embo/Loch Fleet. 1st Left on Embo Street at brow of hill. 2nd house on Right, L-shaped steading with green gate at driveway.
