If you are looking for a place to stay while enjoying one of your hobbies such as bird watching, fishing, golfing, walking, cycling or are just wanting to ‘get away from it all’ Broc Holiday Log Cabin is perfectly located for this. It is situated at the foothills of the Monadhliath Mountain range so exploring the beautiful countryside and wildlife is right on your doorstep, local wildlife include pine martins, red and roe deer, red kites, woodpeckers, ospreys and Slovenian Grebe (arriving March/April until later summer) can be seen, also within easy travelling distance are some of the best tourist attractions in the Scottish Highlands such as Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle, Cairngorm Mountain range and nature reserve or of course the world famous Loch Ness.

On the banks of Loch Ness is the superb pub and restaurant ‘The Dores Inn’. As a special offer for anyone who stays at Broc Holiday Log Cabin you can take advantage of a 10% discount off any meals you have at the beautiful Dores Inn (proof of your booking will be required), also available at the Dores discretion is the complementary shuttle bus which can take you to and from the Inn this would need to be confirmed at the same time as you reserve your table booking. (Booking of your table and the bus is essential in advance of your visit as both are very popular with the locals and tourists alike more details and phone number is in the cabin)
There are also many other attractions close by which include the famous whisky distilleries, local real ale brewery’s, adventure parks, ferry trips to the Islands, boat trips on Loch Ness or Dolphin watching on the Moray Firth. Inverness town itself has a vast array of fine restaurant’s and pubs if you fancy a leisurely lunch or evening meal it also has a lovely shopping centre.

The cabin is just 20 minutes from Inverness, 7 miles to the local shop which caters more than adequately for daily requirements and 8 miles to Loch Ness.

Accommodation & Facilities

The Log Cabin is all on one ground level. The Entrance hall leads through to the open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen, the lounge window looks onto the decking and stunning views of Loch Ruthven.
Lounge area has two settee’s a TV with Freesat and DVD player (a selection of DVD’s are available), the dining room is equipped with table and six chairs, compact kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, microwave & slow cooker. (A tumble dryer is available through the owner at an extra charge)

Double Bedroom with double bed, bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe and shelves, and remote control electric panel heater.

Twin Bedroom with twin beds, bedside cabinet, built in wardrobe and shelves, and remote control electric panel heater.

Bunk Bedroom with bunk beds, set of drawers, coat hangers and remote control electric panel heater. This room is suitable for children.

Bathroom has wash hand basin, toilet and an electric shower over the bath, with wall mounted electric heater and towel rail

Outside is a fairly large decking area with patio table and chairs to while away a few hours overlooking Loch Ruthven, the garden is woodland and extends to the front of the property.

Car parking is available in the privately owned car park near the cabin. The cabin is s short walk (75 metres) from the cabin along a woodland path and is not suitable for those with mobility challenges.

All bed linen, towels, electricity, Wi-Fi and parking are included in the price.

The Cabin is stocked with a starter supply of washing up liquid, toilet rolls and other kitchen and bathroom supplies.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

A refundable good housekeeping deposit of £50 will be required as part of your final balance payment. 

Please note - due to the rural location mobile phone coverage is dependent on your mobile provider and cannot be guaranteed.

Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome - £30 for one dog or £50 for two.

A travel cot and high chair are available at no extra cost - if booked please bring your own cot blankets.
Check in time is after 16:00, check out time is up to 10:00.

Location & Directions

From the A9 at Daviot take the turning for the B851 to Fort Augustus. Follow this road for approximately 8 miles until you will reach the little village Croachy. Turn right sign posted to Loch Ruthven (RSPB Nature Reserve) 1 mile. You will go round several sharp right/left bends, the last one being by the nature reserve car park you then proceed about 1/4 of a mile further on with the loch on the left. The cabins and car park are half way up the hill on the right hand side, the entrance to the car park off set from the road and is via a wooden gate, if you get to the houses at the top of the hill you have missed the entrance please turn around.
