This historic, luxury apartment is perfect for a relaxing coastal getaway, located close to a sandy beach in the picturesque town of Banff and with lovely views of the Moray Firth, Banff Bay and towards Macduff. The two bedroom apartment is finished to a high standard and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay.

An ideal base for history lovers, the building was used as a merchant’s house in the mid 1500’s, a warehouse in the 1700’s and as a Granary in Victorian times. As well as its proximity to the beach, The Granary is centrally located in Banff, with a number of local amenities a short walk away.

The harbour town of Banff is situated on the scenic Aberdeenshire coast with a range of attractions and activities on its doorstep from golfing to salmon fishing on the River Deveron. As well as water sports and beautiful sandy beaches, other highlights of this section of coastline include pretty harbour villages, such as Cullen, Portsoy, Gardenstown and Pennan, meandering coastal walks and wildlife watching spots. During your self-catering holiday in Banff you could also tour local distilleries on the Malt Whisky Trail and sample fine local fare; visit attractions such as Macduff Aquarium and Duff House, a gorgeous Georgian mansion that now houses an art gallery; or simply soak up the sea views from the comfort of your home-from-home.

Accommodation & Facilities

Located on the first floor the apartment is accessed from the private car park. All rooms are on the same floor once inside the apartment.


Bright and airy lounge/dining area with views over the beach, out to sea and toward Macduff. Ample seating for relaxing, TV with Freeview channels, table and 4 chairs for dining. There is a bluetooth speaker.


Fully fitted kitchen with double electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, glassware and cooking utensils.


Shower cubicle, wash hand basin and wc.


One bedroom with a king size bed and the other with a double, both rooms with built in wardrobes.

The apartment has Wi-Fi included and space for parking one car in the private car park. There is additional parking available on the other side of the road from the apartment.

There is gas central heating and on demand hot water.

Sorry no pets.

No smoking or burning of candles is permitted in the apartment building.

All bed linen and towels are included in the tariff.

Bookings are weekly starting on a Saturday with arrival time anytime after 3:30pm and departure time at 10:30am the following Saturday. There is a key collection point at the apartment allowing guests flexibility in arrival time after 3:30pm.

A 25% deposit is required on the day of booking with the final balance due no later than 6 weeks prior to arrival. There is an additional refundable security deposit of £50 taken at the same time as the final balance which is refunded within 7 days of departure subject to there being no damage.

Location & Directions

By car

From the east – as you leave Macduff on the A98 crossing the River Deveron bridge take the first right onto Bridge Street. Turn first right after The Spotty Bag shop the right again opposite Tesco. The Granary is the first building on the left in front of the Police Station.

From the west – drive through Banff on the A98. As you leave, passing the football field on the left, turn left just before crossing the bridge over the River Deveron. Turn first right after The Spotty Bag shop the right again opposite Tesco. The Granary is the first building on the left in front of the Police Station.

The Apartment 8 Banff was an old granary and has lots of history the apartment as been tastefully decorated and is modern,light and airy. We wanted for nothing everything was there as if we were in our own home i.e coffee machine,modern kitchen, wifi and wifi printer. Tescos is 1 minute away. The Ship Public House 2 mins also Famous Spotty Bag Shop. The location of the apartment is ideal for a coastal tour of the fishing village around the coast. Easy reach of Inverness, Peterhead and Fraserburgh
