From Oatfield it is a short gentle stroll to the centre of the beautiful historic town of Dornoch with its unspoiled beaches and internationally renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Club. Oatfield is a perfect base for walking, fishing, golfing, bird-watching and touring the Highlands, or for simply relaxing, a world away from all the stresses of modern living. Dornoch is a holiday centre with cultural, outdoor and community activities which offer much to visitors especially in the holiday seasons. There is a range of restaurants and pubs, many providing quality and local sourced meals for your enjoyment.

Oatfield offers spacious accommodation for up to six people with a large lounge plus dining room as well as a further morning room and other facilities to make your stay an enjoyable and relaxing one. Oatfield has a large and enclosed garden with a sizeable raised decking area. There is plenty of off-road parking for our guests’ needs as well as a garage for storing of bicycles, golf clubs and beach equipment.

Accommodation & Facilities

Lounge: Large lounge with picture window, overlooking the front garden. Comfortable sofa and armchairs and an Ercol rocking chair. This room has a fireplace with wood-burning stove and has a glass room-divider to separate it from the dining area. There is a television and DVD player and a radio/CD player with a selection of books for guests to read. Wifi (free) available.

Dining Room: The dining room adjoins the lounge but can be separated by the sliding glass door. Dining table with seating for 6 guests.

Morning Room: Light, airy room with access to the rear decking area and garden. TV and sofa with a selection of games in cupboard. A room for those who want a bit of peace and quiet away from the main lounge.

Study: Small room with desk set up for those who have to clear some work during their stay or to deal with their e-mails.

Kitchen: Well fitted kitchen with modern units and electric cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer. Good supply of kitchen equipment for those who enjoy cooking and baking.

Utility Room/toilet: This room has a toilet and the washing machine and clothes drying facilities. Also a large Belfast sink, useful for cleaning fish, golf clubs, etc.

Bedroom 1: Overlooking the front garden. Twin beds. Large built in wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Bedroom 2: With French doors to the Deck and back garden. Double bed. Built in wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Bathroom: Bathroom with shower, toilet and wash-hand basin.

First Floor

Twin bedroom with great views over towards the Dornoch Firth and Struie Hill. Built in wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Shower room: Modern white suite with sink, toilet, bidet and walk in shower.


  • Good sized garden around the property. Mainly laid to lawn.
  • There is a bench in the front garden, which gets the sun in the evening, and table and chairs for dining on the deck at the rear of the house.

All bed linen, towels, electricity, heating oil, internet access and off street parking is included in the price.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.

A refundable security deposit of £50 will be required as part of your final balance payment.

Sorry no dogs.

The house is heated throughout by oil central heating.

Location & Directions

Traveling from the south by car you will turn right off the A9 shortly after crossing the Dornoch Firth Bridge. As you drive into the town there is on the left hand side a large First World War bronze monument of a highland soldier. Two roads lead off to the left from this monument. The first and lower road is Poles Road. Oatfield address is 3 Poles Road, and is the fourth house on the right.

Traveling from the north down the A9, you will be directed down (B9168). As this road comes into Dornoch it becomes Poles Road with Oatfield as 3 Poles Road, on the left near the road end. For those with Satnav the postal code is IV25 3HP.
