Comfortably appointed and traditionally furnished large croft house, with views across the sea to the islands of Skye Harris & Lewis. In a Designated National Scenic Area; very quiet and relaxing location near to the beautiful beach of Peterburn, which can be a good place for otter sightings.

Only 10 minutes by car to Gairloch, with its bays and sandy beaches, shops, restaurants, garage, Heritage Museum, leisure centre, golf course and pony trekking. Marine life trips can be taken from the harbor to see whales and dolphins, and also to the Shiant Islands puffin colonies.

The Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and mountains are a short drive away and the area offers excellent walking and hiking, including some beautiful coastal walks. The beautiful Loch Maree is one of the longest of the Scottish lochs, some 14 miles, and empties out into the River Ewe. Salmon, sea and brown trout fishing are available and trips to the Viking Graves on Isle Maree.

The National Trust Inverewe Gardens is located in the village of Poolewe, where there is also an indoor swimming pool.

Accommodation & Facilities

Minch View has a large lounge with TV, Video and DVD player plus a large selection of books and films.

The sun lounge at the front of the house is a warm and relaxing place to read or look out over the sea.

The spacious dining room leads onto a fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

A shower room/wc is also located on this floor. Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms; 1 king size bed and a twin bedroom, with traditional furnishings. Bathroom/wc also on this floor.

The previous occupant was an artist and poet and many of her paintings, of a most unusual style, are on display in the house.

Minch View is double glazed and warmed by oil central heating and internet access is available here.

The old original house stands close by and is very interesting although in a state of disrepair so is locked for safety reasons.

Electricity, bed linen and towels are not included but can be supplied at an extra cost.

A deposit of £150 per week, plus a good housekeeping deposit of £50 per week is payable on booking, refundable after deduction for electricity.

The balance payment is required six weeks before the beginning of your holiday.

Location & Directions

As you enter Gairloch from the south turn left at the Police Station onto the B8021.

Continue out of the village for 7 miles, passing Lonemore and North Erradale.

Minch View is signposted and is on a small private road to the right of the main road
