The Old Stables is a 5 bedroom spacious and tastefully renovated holiday home only 4 miles from the picturesque village of Cannich, hosting a small store for picking up your basic essentials.

9 miles from Glen Affric, known for having one of the largest surviving mature pinewoods in the UK.

Only 8 miles from Drumnadrochit, the lively village with Loch Ness exhibitions, the Iconic Urquhart castle, Highland Riding Centre, Cruises up and down Loch Ness, small supermarket, chemist Post Office, craft shops and plenty places to eat out or simply sit and watch the world go by.

Of course Corrimony RSPB Reserve is a must for the wildlife enthusiasts amongst us with Way-markers leading to Loch Comhnard where sandpipers, greenshanks and sometimes red throated divers and ospreys can be spotted.

The property itself is situated beside a river running down from the hills, a forestry walk can be taken from the property and the peaceful and quiet surroundings are perfect for recharging the batteries and ensuring a relaxing and comfortable get away. The Corrimony Chambered Cairn is within walking distance and the St Curitan’s Chapel and burial ground next door are worth a look.

With the city of Inverness only 25 miles away, The Old Stables is the ideal location to travel around the Highlands enjoying some of the spectacular views whether visiting the West Coast, Ullapool being only a little over an hour away, the Black Isle if you fancy spotting a dolphin, if Nessie has alluded you, only 35 miles. Even a day trip to Skye taking you through some of Scotland’s finest scenery is only 100 miles away.

Accommodation & Facilities

Ground floor

Kitchen – large, spacious, light room with breakfast bar, microwave oven, under counter fridge and freezer as well as upright fridge, electric ceramic hob & oven, dishwasher and storage for jackets and boots.

Dining area – Large wooden table easily sitting 10 or 12 with exposed log burner from living room next door, radio and cd player.

Lounge – Wood burning stove (fuel supplied) two 3 seater settees, one 2 seater and two chairs in brown leather, coffee table, TV with DVD player and French doors with window either side leading to the enclosed garden area.

Downstairs hall way with more storage space for boots and jackets also seating area for enjoying the enclosed garden leads to Utility room -

Utility room - Sink, washing machine, drier and room off with WC and another small wash hand basin.

Bedroom 1 – 2 single beds, bedside cabinets, built-in wardrobe, dressing table and stool

Shower Room – Walk in shower, WC, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

Bedroom 2 – King size bed, bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe, dressing table and stool

First Floor

2nd Lounge seating for 7, desk and chair, TV, cupboard with iron and ironing board

Master bedroom – King Size bed, built in wardrobe, dressing table and chair - En Suite – Bath, separate shower cubicle, WC heated towel rail and wash hand basin

Bedroom 3 – Double bed, built –in wardrobe, bed site cabinets, drawer unti and stool

Bathroom – Bath and separate shower, WC, Sink and heated towel rail

Bedroom 4 – 2 singles, fitted wardrobe, bedside units, chest of drawers and stool

All bed linen, towels, electricity, heating, internet access and private parking for 5 cars is included in the price.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.

A refundable security deposit of £100 will be required as part of your final balance payment.

Dogs welcome at no extra charge - maximum of 2 allowed.

Travel cot & high chair available at no extra charge - please bring your own blankets.

Natural water supply from borehole with UV filters.

The heating is all geothermal with the downstairs underfloor and upstairs radiators.

Location & Directions

Take the A831 from Drumnadrochit. 8 miles from Drumnadrochit you will see a sign for Corrimony on the left hand side follow this for 1.5 miles drive past the sign stating ‘no further vehicles’. The house is beside the graveyard.
