Within a ten minute walk from the centre of Aviemore, this recently constructed Scandinavian-style log cabin has been built to the highest standard and beautifully finished. If you’re looking for a comfortable base to explore the Aviemore area, Carn Eilrig and its sister chalet Gael Cham offer luxurious self-catering accommodation in this picturesque corner of the Scottish Highlands.

Aviemore lies in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park and at the head of the Speyside Way, with a wide variety of activities and attractions on its doorstep from mountain biking to water sports. Whether you’re interested in fishing, golfing, walking or wildlife watching, there is something for everyone in the UK’s largest National Park.

The nearby Rothiemurchas Estate is ideal for walking and biking in tranquil surroundings, with a range of activities on offer such as quad biking, pony trekking, and clay pigeon shooting, plus wildlife watching opportunities with Speyside Wildlife. Osprey can be seen at the RSPB Osprey Centre at nearby Boat of Garten, around 6 miles away, and the Highland Wildlife Park is a popular local attraction. The UK’s largest bottlenose dolphins can be found in the Moray Firth and you can also visit the UK’s only wild reindeer herd at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre.

Carn Eilrig is also ideally located for hitting the slopes in the winter months and if you’re not into snow sports or hill walking, you can still enjoy the panoramic mountain views by taking a trip up the funicular at Cairngorm Mountain. The Inverness and Moray areas, with Loch Ness, Cawdor Castle, a string of distilleries and lovely beaches, are easy day trips from Aviemore.

Accommodation & Facilities

Cabins Carn Eilrig & Geal Cham are identical quality log cabins situated adjacent to Croftside, Aviemore. Croftside is a quiet residential area of Aviemore and the log cabins are in a cul de sac with no through traffic.

Both Lodges are 3 bedroom, double glazed, and well insulated ensuring maximum comfort with quality furnishings, fully equipped modern kitchens and colour TVs with DVD player. The heating throughout is electric.

There is accommodation for up to 6 guests in each lodge with three bedrooms per lodge and additional en suite facilities in the master bedrooms. Outside there is ample parking space, and our prices are fully inclusive of bed linen, towels and electricity. We are also happy to accommodate well behaved pets.

Kitchen/ Lounge area/ Diner – The fully fitted modern kitchen contains numerous appliances including ceramic hob, oven, microwave & dishwasher, and all kitchen utensils and crockery you will require. The dining area seats 6, and the living area has two large settees, a flat panel TV

Master bedroom – double bed with bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers, and an en suite shower room.

Bedroom 2 – Twin beds with bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers.

Bedroom 3 – Twin beds with bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers.

Family bathroom with bath with overhead shower, wash hand basin and wc.

Utility Room – Washing machine and drier, and an area for drying outdoor clothing.

Outside – Covered decking area, accessible via patio doors from the lounge.

All bed linen, towels, electricity and private parking is included in the price.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).

No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.

A refundable security deposit of £50 will be required as part of your final balance payment.

There would be an additional charge for dogs of £40 per dog. Maximum of 2 dogs allowed.

Location & Directions

From the South - Follow the A9 north from Perth and turn right toward Aviemore as signposted. Follow the road into Aviemore and continue through the main part of the town. Continue passed the ambulance depot on the right and the entrance to the Dalfaber Golf Course also on the right. Approx 100 meters along turn left onto Old Meall Road, Turn first left into Croftside Way, then immediately left then right. You have arrived.

From the North - continue south toward Perth from Inverness. Turn left toward Aviemore as sign-posted. As you enter the town (welcome to Aviemore sign on the left) turn right into High Burnside (sign-posted), Turn first left into Croftside Way, then immediately left then right.

Very nice lodge with every facility you could require such as washer/dryer, microwave, fridge etc. The lodge was clean and roomy and not over-looked by neighbours. It also had great views of the Cairngorm mountains.

The lodge has everything required for a comfortable stay in one of the best holidays destinations in Scotland. Its well appointed with cooker, dishwasher and washer/dryer and easily accommodates six people. Highly recommended.

The lodge was in a great location within a quiet housing estate however only 10 minutes walk into the town centre. The lodge itself was extremely spacious across all rooms with a high level of cleanliness. I would highly recommend the lodge.

We stayed here for Christmas some years ago and had a great time, glad to say our return trip didn't disappoint. The property is spacious and well equipped with a surprisingly comfy bed! It is well maintained, has good views and an excellent location, peaceful but close enough to the amenities to be able to stroll to the shops without having to drive. It was an excellent base for all Aviemore and the surrounding area has to offer, we did many different walks and things but the green loch, Cairngorm and afternoon tea on the Strathspey Railway are all recommended. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

The location was ideal, just 2mins drive from the centre of Aviemore and part of a housing estate but with a private garden out the back that looked on to a field so plenty of privacy but assured security in a housing estate at the same time. The lodge itself had plenty of room with comfortable living room and dining area. Perfect for a family or group of friends.
