Location & Directions

The most direct route is via the A74, M74, M73, A80, M80, by-passing Stirling, M9 to Perth then via the A9 to Kessock Bridge. Take the A835, then the A832 to Conon Bridge/Contin, Garve, Achnasheen, Kinlochewe to Gairloch. At Gairloch you will see a T junction with the McColl’s Stores on the right. Take the left turn, B8021, signposted to Big Sand and Melvaig. Follow this road for approximately 10 miles until you see a sign for Aultgrishan. The house is just over 1 mile from this sign. You will see the Melvaig sign by a small bridge. Drive up the hill and passing a white cottage on the left, follow the road round to another house on the left. Immediately past this house is an opening leading to a farm gate. You will see the names of the holiday cottages, Fernbank, Raasay & Rona. Drive very carefully down this track and take care not to go into the ditch on the right hand side. Please keep this gate closed at all times to avoid cattle straying down the road. Drive straight down to the gate on the left, which leads to Fernbank. Parking is by the house.

The most interesting route is to leave the M80 at the junction to Callander and Lochearnhead then take the A84 to Crianlarich, A82 Glencoe to Fort William. Take the Inverness road as far as Drumnadrochit, turn left here and in one and a half miles turn sharp right over the hill to Beauly and Muir of Ord. Then continue by the first route.
