Directions & travel info

By Car - From Inverness cross the bridge over to the Black Isle, heading north on the A9. At the first roundabout, about five miles, take the first turning left signposted to Muir-of-Ord, Ullapool etc. When you arrive at the road junction at Muir of Ord head straight across to the traffic lights at the railway bridge (only 50 yards from the junction). Turn left straight after the railway bridge on the A832, signposted to Ullapool and with brown tourist sign for the Glen Ord Distillery Visitor Centre. You head for the Distillery Visitor Centre which you will find about half a mile out of Muir of Ord just at the bottom of a short hill. Watch out for the next brown tourist sign for the Visitor Centre and turn left. There is also a low signpost saying Aultgowrie. Continue past the distillery onto a delightful single track road for 1.5 miles. After a mile or so you come to a hump backed bridge, which goes over the distillery burn. Continue on for about half a mile. When you come to the first turning to your left go 20 yards further and our turning is on your right. The name ‘Culgowrie’ is on a sign and there is a stone dyke wall in good condition on either side of the entrance.
